    History of Zisun Tea

The making of Zisun tea dates as far back as the eighty century CE. This was when the Chinese Sage of Tea called Lu Yu set up a factory in Guzhu Village of China's Zhejiang Province to be producing tea for the emperor of the Tang Dynasty. He believed that the Zisun tea was the best type of tea ever, and it went on to be a Tribute Tea for more than a thousand years. It was initially prepared by steaming into cakes and then grinding it into a fine powder that was boiled into a drink. In 1368, people started brewing it using whole leaves.

    Picking Standard and Making Process

Zisun Tea was entirely picked by hands by applying the standard technique of choosing a single bud and two tiny leaves. Processing was also carried out meticulously by hand in order to preserve the integrity of those tiny leaf sets. As is the case with most green tea from China, it was picked and then withered indoors or in the sun. The next step was to heat it in a low temperature wok in order to destroy any enzymes present in the leaves that could otherwise have oxidized and turned them brown. It was finally dried, packaged and shipped.
